Bryan Cranston‘s character on The Studio is going to need something like a prayer to survive his interaction with Madonna next season, according to the actor.

While speaking to Access Hollywood on Tuesday (March 12), Cranston — who plays Griffin Mill, CEO of the fictional Continental Studios — revealed that the Queen of Pop’s cameo on the upcoming second installment of the Apple TV+ series involves potential humiliation for him on screen. “In this next season of The Studio, I do something in front of Madonna in a truth-or-dare test,” he began.

“It’s a dare, and I do something that will either raise my street cred very high or destroy my career,” he continued. “It’s one of the two. But I guarantee you, you will utter to yourselves, ‘Oh my God!’”

“You will be watching this like this,” Cranston added, demonstrating the look of shock he anticipates viewers having on their faces as the scene plays out. “And you will not believe.”

Fans first learned that Madonna would be appearing on The Studio in March, after she was spotted on the set of the show in Italy. The following month, Variety reported that she’ll guest star in two episodes of the Seth Rogen-led program, and that her storyline will nod to her real-life struggles to develop a biopic about her life and career in Hollywood.

Madge’s role in season two — which does not yet have a set premiere date — will mark her first time acting on screen in more than two decades, having last appeared on TV in a 2003 episode of Will & Grace. Cranston’s update on her involvement comes as Madonna is gearing up to drop Confessions II, her followup to 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor, in July.

“She is an extraordinary person. I mean, she’s Madonna,” the Breaking Bad alum added on Access Hollywood. “She’s one of the most famous people in all the world. And we were in Venice, Italy, shooting two episodes over there. And it was almost like a pinch-me time. You’re going, ‘Look at where we are with Madonna!’”
